We leave Opuwo behind for eight days and 1,000 km across the most remote terrain in Namibia, dropping into the Hoarusib, over Rooidrom Pass and into the Marienfluss.

Into the Hoarusib River Valley

Day in the Hoarusib River Valley. The crew leaves Opuwo with eight days and 1,000 km ahead, no shops, no fuel, no backup. They camp at Otjiu, where a desert elephant visits, and watch a dramatic storm sunset. The road past Kaoko-Otavi is washed away and slow going.
